Hello! I’m OJ Budak, the Founder of EntryPointSDR. And this is My Journey. 

 

Let me start by saying - I get it. I know what it feels like to come from a background where success seems like it’s so far away. That’s exactly why I’m so passionate about helping others knock down those barriers and achieve their goals, no matter where they’re starting from. My story’s not exactly a straight line. At 16, I got a scholarship to a performing arts academy. Yes, jazz hands were my thing. For a while, I was living the actors dream - TV, stage, film. Loved it. But after years of pretending to be other people, I realised… maybe I should figure out who I actually want to be.

 

So, I stepped into my “entrepreneurial era.” My dad and I started a business in Greenwich. Hard graft, let me tell you. But after two years of grinding, we sold it for a profit. That’s when I discovered sales. Where else can you literally create your pay check just by being proactive? Next stop: property sales in South East London, where I grew up. Helping people find homes? Rewarding. But then the market went flat, and I had to pivot again because life, much like Monopoly, sometimes has you switching from Park Lane to Old Kent Road. 

 

Fast forward to today, and I’m now a founding Senior SDR at The Scalers. Over the past year, I’ve smashed targets, bagged awards like Rising Star, generated over £1.4 million in business, and yes, traveled internationally for work. But don’t get it twisted - the real flex is getting there after years of graft, hustle, and the occasional “What am I even doing?!” moment. But here’s the thing: success in this role isn’t about luck. It’s about being consistent, resilient, and sticking with it - even when it feels like you’re playing sales bingo and no one’s calling out your numbers.

 

I won’t sugarcoat it, breaking into sales, especially if you’re from a socially mobile background like mine, can feel like trying to join a secret club where no one gives you the password. When I started, I didn’t even know what an SDR was. I thought it was a typo. The truth is, there’s so much untapped potential in people like us. But to succeed in this field, you need guidance, strategy, and a good dose of curiosity. You’ve got to be willing to leverage your network, ask awkward but important questions, and learn from the people who’ve already been where you want to go. That's how I did it, it's no secret. 

 

My family’s story taught me that anything’s possible. My grandparents fled a civil war in Turkey, worked their socks off, and built businesses from scratch in the UK. No modern resources, no LinkedIn, no English, just grit. If they could do that, imagine what you can do with today’s tools and opportunities?
